The four Sleepy Hollow characters have been made from a combination of mohair, velvet, synthetic fur
and even some wool needle felting (for a spooky face on the Headless Horseman!).
This tableux includes a raised wood base that has been handpainted to enhance the scene,
also a spooky tree with 'Sleepy Hollow' handpainted on the sign. The headless horseman
has a cloak that is wired (it can be arranged to look like it is billowing in the breeze).
The Headless Horseman's head is, of course, removable. It also has a magnet inside the head and his neck,
allowing you to place the head back on the body if you prefer. Ichabod Crane's horse has leather tack,
while Ichabod has a surprised open mouth, small wire frame glasses perched on his nose and an ultrasuede jacket.
The rearing horse is fixed to the wooden base, all other characters and the tree are moveable.
The scene depicted is from Washington Irving's famous story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, when
Ichabod is riding through the forest and first encounters the Headless Horseman! This tableaux
has been done specially for the 2005 Teddy Bear Artist Invitational (TBAI) show in Binghamton, NY.
